Hello friend, it's been so long...
Well lookie who snuck up on us... it's September! It made quite an entrance this morning here. A thunderstorm that was so close it shook the house. Do you ever do that counting trick when there's a thunderstorm to see how close it is to you? After lightning strikes, you start counting until you hear thunder. The number you land on tells you how many miles away the lightning is. Thunder travels 1 mile in 5 seconds, so if you count to 10, the lightning is 2 miles away. I do this all the time. This morning I only counted 1 second... meaning the lighting was only 0.2 miles away! Eek! I lost internet/cable/phone for an hour or so. Anyways...
I can't believe that the summer is officially over now. I will miss it. I will miss the hot weather and being able to lay around in the sun.
Fall does offer some great alternatives though. Besides the cozy clothes, I'm looking forward to watching our forest go from lush and overgrown, to crispy and full of lovely colours.
Backyard walks are the best in the Fall. The river becomes fully visible, and best of all, there are no mosquitoes!
I am hoping winter holds off for a little while longer though. If winter here never happened, I would be a happy girl. The snowfall we get is insane, being that we are right by the Georgian Bay. Last year yielded a good 6 feet in our front yard. It also started snowing in October. OCTOBER! That is just ridiculous, Mother Nature. Please hold off for us some more, ok? :)
I also have some brand new sponsors up this month! Check them out in my sidebar... they are all awesome so be sure to show them some love!!!
What are you looking forward to most about Fall?
