oh, you want a reply?

Hello blog owners! I haven't done one of these Blog Tips posts in a while, but I have been noticing something more and more often that I wanted to mention!

PLEASE put your email address in your Blogger profile!  When you comment on someone's blog, did you know that you could be missing out on their possible reply?  Or if you enter a contest on a blog and leave a comment as your entry, you might have missed an opportunity at winning if you don't have your email address linked up to your profile.

For example, see how my profile has a "Contact" section in the sidebar with a link to email me? That email address is attached to every comment I leave on every person's blog because it is in my Blogger profile.  If you ask me a question via commenting on my blog, there is no way I can reply to you if you don't have this set up.

I get all of the comments you leave me straight to my email address. To reply to you, all I have to do is hit REPLY and it automatically sends an email to that associated Blogger email address. If you don't have this set up, there is no "reply-to" email address for me to write back to.

So how do you do it? It's SO EASY. 

• Go to Blogger.com and login.  
• In your Dashboard, under your little profile picture thumbnail you will see Edit Profile. 
• Click that and then all you have to do is check the box that says "Show My Email Address". 
• Voila! 

(If you're using the NEW blogger interface, just click the drop down arrow on the top right of your screen then choose Blogger Profile. Click the blue Edit Profile button on that page instead, then check the box.)

PLEASE PLEASE do this if you comment on other blogs!!
