Welcoming Change
Some people call them resolutions. I call them goals. Goals you set for yourself can only be achieved if you truly let your mind open wide and have the will to strive towards them. This year, I'm done making resolutions that I know in my heart and soul are not entirely what I want to strive towards. Insignificant things such as losing ten pounds (for example) would be great, but I know that is definitely not one of my top priorities and therefore know I wouldn't dedicate my mind to accomplishing it. That is a nice resolution to think about, but this year, it doesn't classify as a goal.
My goals are pretty basic, but will take a lot of drive and determination to see to the end. I can already feel that this is going to be a good year... a year of change for the better... but actions will speak louder than text written on a blog.
My number one goal this year is to overcome fear and anxiety. I have been crippled by panic for a long time and have had enough. I will conquer it, because I have to.
My second goal is to see this blog and my shop grow tenfold. Hard work will pay off. I will take this as far as I want it to go. Every day I will work on making that happen, because this is what I want and this is the place I'm meant to be right now.
Thirdly, I will hold onto love. I will get married. I will stop worrying about all of the little details and just do it... because in the end, the details are the things that matter the least. This is my love.
Lastly, I will recognize more often that this life is mine, and there is so much more of it to explore. I will open my mind to new places and ideas the best I can. I will welcome new ideas and try to understand other ways of life.
What better kind of goals can one set than goals for self growth?
What will you be striving towards this year?
