a good night.
Last night I did two things I haven't done in years. I went back to Toronto for the first time since we moved out of there, and I went to a concert. Let me start by saying that I used to be a huge concert-goer. I have so many amazing memories that are irreplaceable and that I wouldn't trade for the world. Long roadtrips and shady hotel rooms, backstage shenanigans and late night tour bus hangouts with friends. We lived sort of a mini Almost Famous type life to put it into perspective.
Last night my friends the All-American Rejects were back in town, so when they offered Dustin and I some wristbands to the show I just had to go see them. It was years since we had seen each other last and being there was such a blast from the past... surreal almost. My old show-going friends were there and it felt like the early 2000's all over again. Nostalgia at it's finest. I was not happy at the fact that the security guy wouldn't let me bring my camera inside, so I was stuck making memories with my crappier cell phone...
We had planned to all go out after the show but things started to run a little late after they had to do an autograph signing, and let's face it, we were two hours away from home and are getting too old for this haha.
It's hard to believe that almost a decade has gone by since we first met these guys and started making awesome memories. The friendships that came out of our experiences have had their highs and lows over the years, but at the end of the day these memories we share cannot be touched by anyone, for only we understand them. Thank you for an awesome night, friends.
p.s. if you haven't heard their new album, check it out. It's on repeat as I work every day. It's amazing to see a band grow so much over the years and the new album is truly my fav.
