catching up
I am so happy that this weekend happened. Friday we had Toad and his lady come and stay with us. They are so sweet and small and cute! We spent most of the time catching up, which we hadn't done in forever! Don't you love the type of friends that, no matter how much time has passed, you can pick right up with them as if no time had gone by at all? They brought me some gorgeous flowers that bloomed the very next day. We had a nice old fashioned BBQ dinner courtesy of George Foreman and my newly invented guacamole (by the way, it was a hit!). When night fell we headed outside for a bonfire and some more laughs. This is why I love living in the country. There is nothing like a good old bonfire.
Saturday morning we went up to the beach. Unfortunately everything was closed up, but we hung around for a bit anyways, freezing our butts off while frolicking around the beach front. We searched around for somewhere to have breakfast and settled at a local cafe. By the way, I pretty much never do restaurants so it was kind of a big deal haha.
Afterwards, we said our goodbyes and Dustin and I headed out on our own "day date" which consisted of ice cream, the first yard sale of the season, and attempting to visit a new fabric shop, which was (lucky for him) closed. Holiday weekends kind of suck for places to go. At least we had good company and good times for most of it :)
Happy Easter friends!
