In A Dream
"Don't worry so much about being successful. Worry about being happy and the rest will follow."
This past April, my grandmother concluded her 95 years on this earth in peace. The last words she said to me were "I'll see you again".... and I have. I dream about her a lot. Vividly. She is a little younger and we always sit down to talk. The quote above is something she told me in a dream recently, and it was so powerful to me that I don't think I'll ever forget it.
You see, lately I've been on a bit of a rocky path trying to figure out what I want to do with my business and where I want to go in life now. If you don't remember my older post about my career, you can read it here.
I've always had this continuous drive to be successful in life, and when I set my mind on something I can really achieve it. I truly believe that anybody can achieve what they put their minds to if they want it bad enough. There is no magic to it, no need for a higher power to help guide your way, it's all inside of YOU. But you have to WANT it. It's your will power and determination. Positive thinking and drive go a long way.
Still, I've been struggling with the road I want to take. I had a super successful business for many years and it was pretty much ripped from my hands. Ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but things happened along the way and unfortunately put me in this place right now where I am unsure about the future of it. Is it really unfortunate though... or fortunate?
I've been concentrating so much on being successful that I forgot about being happy. Happiness to me right now is being stress free. It's this blog. It's the idea that one day this house will be filled with a family. It's being creative and making cute plush things. It's coming up with new ideas for products and putting them into action. And so what if this path is all new to me? I'm going to worry about being happy and the rest will follow.
Aren't dreams wonderful?
